Visual media has always played a vital role in raising awareness about the environment whether that be tiger poaching in India or the recent badger cull in the UK. As nature photographers there is arguably an obligation or at least an opportunity to do something tangible with our images in an effort to engage people in environmental issues that concern or interest us.

Using photography and other visual media to communicate to a wide audience on current conservation issues has been a major part of my work recently, mostly in collaboration with other like-minded photographers. These are the major nature photography projects that I have been involved with over the past decade.

2020VISION is the most ambitious nature photography project ever staged in the UK, to communicate the link between habitat restoration and our own well being.

Highland Tiger is a project aimed at raising awareness of the plight of the elusive Scottish Wildcat. Less than 400 of these magnificent cats survive in the wild in Britain today.
